After distillation, the whisky is matured for at least five years in ex- bourbon casks, capturing the rugged essence of Islay’s whisky-making tradition. Aroma: Stairsneach delivers a powerful burst of peat smoke with a distinctly medicinal edge. Bold initial notes of tar and iodine are underpinned by the unmistakable presence of seaweed.
